Church of New Hope Leadership

Josh Spoelstra has been Lead Pastor of Church of New Hope in Lewiston since July of 2007. This is his first pastorate having graduated from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary (South Hamilton, MA.) in May of 2007 with a Master of Divinity and a Master of Theology, Old Testament.

Prior to that, he completed a Bachelor degree in Biblical Studies at Trinity Western University (Langley, B.C.). Josh’s other ministry experience include an interim pastorate, itinerate speaking, and a professorial internship at Oro Bible College, Philippines.

Josh is a pastor because he loves to proclaim the truth of salvation: eternal life in Jesus the Christ; and, he considers it sheer joy teaching God’s Word to others thereby aiding and interacting with people through their spiritual journeying (discipleship).

Josh enjoys theology, Hebrew, tattoos, writing, theatre, composing and performing music (punk rock and metal, namely), sunsets on the West Coast, reading, talk with people in bars about Jesus, skateboarding, and is up for trying just about anything.
