The Newest Christian Education Unit

Pre-Spring Conference Meeting

       The Willamette Valley Advent Christian Conference (WVAC) will have their Annual Spring Conference in Colton, OR this year on April 4-6.  In preparation for this business meeting we had a pre-spring conference meeting in Boardman OR on Feb 16.  Present from CNH was Scott and Cathy Edmonson, Jim Osborn,

Jim Smith, Julie Struiksma, and Josh Spoelstra. 

       Many items of business were discussed and prepared for the Spring Conference including dreaming and planning innovatively concerning the action of the conference in the future in order to “risk it all for the kingdom of God.”

thought possible.  This is done by viewing a piece of scripture through five lenses: Historical, Geographical, Rhetorical, Theological, and Application.

       The manner in which one is encouraged to study is inquisitively—to ask the text question through the abovementioned angles which yields interpretive fruit.

       Up till this point we have learned the

methodology of understanding the meaning of the scriptures through asking it questions.  Still ahead for us are the field tests in the books of Jonah and Jude.

       If you are not attending the CE Unit, it is not too late to jump in and be blessed by the Word of God.  Sunday School is at 11:30 am.  See you there!

       Presently we are about half way through with our latest Sunday School / Christian Education Unit entitled, “How to read your Bible and Understand it.” 

       This course, which was taken up after the Annual Meeting, strives to enable people to read and examine their bibles on their own—or in small groups—while learning and understanding more of its contents then ever
