In the new year the Youth Group has been flourishing by the grace of God through the faithful leadership of Kris Schmidt and Mandie Edmonson. In January they inaugurated a worship component into the existing structure on Thursday nights at 7:00. The first effort in this implementation was Jordan and Mandie introducing the concept to a largely un-churched group of young people. Subsequently, Kris and Mandie have brought in Josh and Julie to |

provide instrumentation while singers vary from week to week, though it is usually Julie, Mandie, Becky. The speaking responsibility is shared by both Kris and Mandie. They have been delivering revenant topical messages mostly from the Gospel of Matthew. The contents of all the messages are substantial, truthful, and confrontational. The youth are learning a lot about God and life … and the leaders have alluded to the same phenomenon occurring within themselves. The last weekend of January, a 15 passenger van full of youth and college students went to White Pass, WA for a multi-conference Winter Retreat. Mike Schmidt drove the long and arduous snow-packed trail and brought them back safe and sound too. From the reports it sounds like it was a well spent |

weekend with good teaching, great worship experiences, and many friendships growing. Within three Corporate Worship Services two different videos of Youth Group goings-on were played. One was set entirely in the Youth Center and the other was of the White Pass Winter Retreat. The first, made by Julie, captures snippets from several youth group meetings of the various activities which happen each week; and, the second constructed by Kris records highlights of the retreat from beginning to end with many pictures and several interviews from individuals. To see these videos (again) and pictures and information, go to the website (www.lewistoncnh.org) click “ministry” then go to “small group” then click “Youth Group” and you’re there. Enjoy! |
